Taking notes in meetings?

Can you suggest anything to help a dyslexic employee who struggles to take notes in meetings?

Note-taking can be challenging for dyslexic individuals who cannot focus on the conversation and take notes at the same time, often because they are concentrating on recalling the correct spelling. Difficulties with working memory and a slower speed of processing information can impact on many activities which require multi-tasking.

A simple solution is to delegate note-taking to a colleague.

You could also look at Note taking software, or apps which would enable the individual to work more independently. There are many available on the market including for example Google Keeps and Microsoft One Note. It is worth exploring which are most appropriate for the individual and the setting. Think about whether they will need note-taking on any device with the ability to synchronise to other devices. How easy is it to organise and reference the notes that have been taken, and the maximum size of files that they will need to store.

For online meetings, using the transcription option is useful. Recordings can be downloaded into a document and then edited.

Purchasing a recording device with built in encryption and download features can be a good option when there is a need for confidential information to encrypted.
