Our Assessment Services:

Dyslexia or Dyscalculia Referral Assessment Service: We will put you in contact with a BDA Approved Assessor who offers face-to-face assessments for all ages and remote dyslexia assessments for those under 12. Assessment costs via this route vary and can be up to £850 per assessment.

Remote Dyslexia Assessment Service:
If the person being assessed is aged 12 years (and over and can manage a remote assessment) our approved assessors can offer them via a video platform such as Zoom. The cost of an assessment with a specialist teacher is £660 and an assessment with a psychologist is £840.

Corporate Dyslexia Assessment Service: The BDA can arrange assessments that are to be funded by schools, local authorities, universities, organisations and employers. The cost of an assessment via this route is also £660 with a specialist teacher and an assessment with a psychologist is £840. This includes VAT.

The locations that we can offer are listed in the booking packs or on the enquiry form when you start an application, these are kept up to date. If we do not have an assessor in your area we can offer a remote assessment by remote video platform. Assessors are often booking months in advance but the earliest available date will always be offered.

Funding.

Unfortunately, there is not usually any direct funding for diagnostic assessments in schools, colleges or other settings, generally, assessments have to be paid for by the person, parent, or employer. As dyslexia and dyscalculia are not medical conditions, a diagnostic assessment is not covered by the NHS.

From time to time, and subject to available funding, the British Dyslexia Association can offer bursaries to individuals to support them with the cost of accessing diagnostic assessments. See the following page for further details: Assessment Bursaries
